1. What are the benefits of global warming, according to the author?: The author claims that global warming has helped increase our human welfare by 1.4 %, as well as and I quote, "fewer winter deaths; lower energy costs; better agricultural yields; probably fewer droughts; maybe richer biodiversity." The author claims that we are actually helping our world rather than hurting it in some ways. Also, just 1.4% is small by itself, but over time it could allow a great deal of change to occur.



2. How will increasing wealth enable us to adapt to climate change in the future?: The author claims if the increase in wealth continues the way it is currently trending, even poor countries like Bangladesh will be able to afford flood defenses that are available  currently to the Dutch. This would allow them to easily survive the harmful effects that this climate change could cause. If this were true, many more people could survive the possible disaster and maybe even  thrive.



3. Why should we care if climate change has caused a 1.4% increase in global economic output?: We should care because just 1.4% is huge in statistic standards. If the author is correct in their points, we could gain a huge excess in money over the next few years. If not it could be a devastating disaster that we will be unprepared for when it arrives. Also, this could help boost the economy that in turn could help fund ways to escape this crisis and prevent it from happening ever again.



4. Is it possible to compare the costs and benefits of global warming? If so, what does this tell us about what policies we should make? : I do believe it is possible to measure both the cost and the benefits of global warming, to create an effective policy. I believe if we were to make any policies, one would definitely have to be to make sure that global warming is never caused again by any government or company. We should be even more vigilant in our goals to protect the environment and create a safe world. I propose we create a policy that not only helps us, but also cares for our neighbors throughout the world. If this were to be made, I know we could prevent this disaster from ever occurring again.
