I think the current process is very flawed. Students are
just laying back, relaxing, not working for the grade they deserve or try for.
Information can be just made up on the fly like” I’ve heard about students
making up all sorts of events, including deaths of parents who really didn’t
die” just so some speedy readers will think they are worth the passing grade.
That shows me they aren’t interested in the proper place of educational worth
the earned by the student, only that they get paid after the job is done.
Like I said, the entire process of judging is just wrong and
flawed. The people who run this “operation” obviously are strict about speed,
results and money. If only one company or system grades the essays, how can
that be fair? They can just speed through it all without a care in the world
whose lives they are effecting. If they just allowed a separate process to
double check the essays again, I might have more support. But just blindly
running through the essay, grading, reading in less than three minutes is just
un acceptable in my world. This needs to be done carefully and correctly in
order to properly judge who deserves it, and who doesn’t.
I will still prepare for the SAT the best I can. I will not
try to “cheat the system” in order to get a good grade. I will attempt to place
well on the essay without using the grading system to my advantage. With that
said, I need to make sure my facts are interesting enough that these essay
graders accept my essay into its acceptable category. I only wish to take the test correctly in
order to get into a college the way you’re supposed to. No cheating, no lying,
and no breaking the system.
